I was not really keen on the shiny color, but this table is heavy and sturdy.  I have a very special something in mind for this one.  And I am hoping the final result will be great.  But I will have to strip this one to the bone. A little more work, but it should not be really bad.  Messy maybe.  Stay tuned!
